Water treatment: hundreds of realizations in the Benelux.
Bio-Dynamics builds post-sedimentation tanks, buffer tanks and aeration tanks in in-situ cast reinforced concrete for industrial water treatment, from its base in Wielsbeke, Belgium. With more than 30 years of experience and over 5,000 tanks built, every tank is engineered to the flow rate and the treatment process, in diameters from 4.5 m to 50 m.

Water treatment
Water treatment is not just an issue dealt with centrally by governments.
Indeed, many industries have processes that produce polluted water and therefore need to implement water treatment processes directly on their industrial site.

Grid and pump pits
Smaller tanks can be built quickly and easily using Bio-Dynamics’ specially designed formwork. An acid-proof liner can be applied to the formwork before the concrete is poured. A concrete roof can be poured over these tanks to avoid the inconvenience of rising odors. We can also provide an opening for the introduction of incoming material into the cover slab. This hatch can be fitted with a cover.
Aeration tanks
Aeration basins are the key components of wastewater treatment plants. For an economical execution, the basins of a wastewater treatment plant are circular and usually built at a height of 8 to 10 m for an efficient oxygen absorption. In addition, concentric construction is more advantageous for combined oxidation and nutrient removal.
Frequently asked questions about concrete tanks for water treatment
Which tanks does Bio-Dynamics build for industrial water treatment?
Bio-Dynamics builds post-sedimentation tanks, buffer tanks, aeration tanks and grid and pump pits in in-situ cast reinforced concrete. Every tank is engineered to the flow rate and the treatment process, so that contaminated water can be turned into usable water on the industrial site itself.
Why choose in-situ cast concrete instead of prefabricated or steel tanks?
An in-situ tank is poured on site as one monolithic structure instead of being assembled from panels. That gives a seamless, watertight construction with a lifespan measured in decades and minimal maintenance, and it withstands the aggressive media found in wastewater treatment.
What tank sizes are possible for water treatment?
The round concrete tanks range from 4.5 m to 50 m in diameter and up to 25 m in height, with or without a roof, above ground or below ground. Each tank is dimensioned to the required volume, the flow rate and the subsoil conditions.
Which sectors does Bio-Dynamics build water treatment tanks for?
Bio-Dynamics builds water treatment tanks for the food industry, agriculture, chemicals and general industry, as well as for public and semi-public treatment plants. More than 5,000 tanks have been built in over 30 years of environmental engineering.
In which countries does Bio-Dynamics build water treatment tanks?
Bio-Dynamics works from Wielsbeke in Belgium and delivers projects across Europe, including Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, the United Kingdom, Ireland and Luxembourg. Site teams travel to the project location to cast the tanks on site.
